York Perform vs Marcy HG3000: What Matters in a Home Multi-Gym?
A multi-gym compresses several resistance-training stations into one footprint, so the useful comparison is not just the size of the weight stack. Resistance ratio, available stations, construction and the quality of published documentation all matter.

Weight stack and resistance
York specifies a 100 kg vinyl weight stack for the Perform Home Gym and states a 1:1 resistance ratio across its stations. The Marcy Eclipse HG3000 uses a 68 kg vinyl stack. We have not found sufficiently strong documentation to assign a verified resistance ratio to the HG3000, so GymVerity leaves that field unscored rather than estimating it.
Training stations
York lists lat pulldown, bench press, pec fly, leg training and an arm-curl pad among the Perform's functions. The HG3000 includes high and low pulley stations, a dual-function chest press/pec deck, leg extension and a removable arm-curl pad.
Capacity and construction
York publishes a maximum user weight of 125 kg, a product weight of 155 kg and dimensions of 141 × 115 × 196 cm. Its specification also calls out a heavy-duty Y-frame and sealed pulley bearings.
For the HG3000, current UK retail documentation reports a 135 kg maximum user weight and a 128 kg product weight, while the manufacturer documentation supports features including a 14-gauge steel frame and pulley/cable construction. Published dimensional values conflict across sources, so GymVerity currently marks dimensions as insufficiently verified.
Why Data Confidence matters here
This comparison illustrates why GymVerity separates a product score from Data Confidence. The York Perform currently scores 87.1/100 with 97% Data Confidence. The HG3000 scores 82.2/100 but only 78% Data Confidence because some important published information is inconsistent or incomplete.
A lower confidence figure is not automatically a criticism of the equipment itself. It tells the reader how certain we are about the data behind the assessment.
